Cancer is a devastating diagnosis for greater than 40,000 kids and families who face this disease each year. Retired Caterpillar Chairman, Jim Owens and his wife Katie, donated $1M to create a research endowment to battle cancer. The OSF Professorship in Pediatric Oncology will lead truly transformative pediatric research to develop landmark advances for children who face cancer. The professorship is a collaborative effort between the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine at Peoria, the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate and OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois. The generosity of the Owens ensures the Peoria area remains at the forefront of cutting-edge treatments.
