Programs to Support

"When a person asks from the heart, the heart responds and both are blessed." -Sister Judith Ann Duvall, O.S.F.

The OSF Saint Francis Foundation is dedicated to supporting lifesaving care to the sick, poor, injured, ages and the dying. Through education of health care providers, we can ensure this care is provided for generations ahead. With the challenges facing health care today, private gifts are increasingly important in allowing us to preserve and strengthen programs of excellence. Here are the areas of focus for OSF Saint Francis:

OSF Saint Francis Medical Center

Today, OSF Saint Francis Medical Center is a 616-bed hospital with more than 900 physicians and is the fourth largest medical center in the state of Illinois. A major teaching affiliate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP), it is the area’s only Level 1 Trauma Center, the highest designation in trauma care, and serves as the resource hospital for emergency medical services in north-central Illinois. The medical center has also been designated Magnet Status for excellence in nursing care since 2004.

Children’s Hospital of Illinois

Children's Hospital of Illinois, the only hospital in central Illinois to offer comprehensive pediatric specialty and subspecialty medical services, understands children are unique and have special needs. With 124 beds and 115 pediatric specialists representing more than 40 pediatric subspecialties, we care for more children in Illinois than any hospital outside of Chicago. We see the impact each child’s illness has on their entire family. Every aspect of Children’s Hospital is driven by our Mission to serve these young patients and their families with the greatest care and love. Our caregivers use every resource available to provide the highest quality of health care, including state of the art technology, equipment designed specifically for children, and world renowned training and education.

Cardiovascular Services

OSF Saint Francis cardiovascular services provide comprehensive care from diagnostic testing to cardiovascular interventions and surgery. In partnership with HeartCare Midwest, patients are provided with the best in clinical practices and technology. More than 50 physicians and advanced practitioners compromise the heart team, with diverse experience in cardiac and vascular specialties.

College of Nursing

For over 100 years, Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing has provided outstanding nursing education to thousands of graduates who become the next generation of caregivers. The College of Nursing is a private, non-profit institution offering bachelors, masters and doctoral degree programs.

Neurological Services

The Illinois Neurological Institute (INI) is one of the most comprehensive neurological centers in the Midwest, where more than 90 physicians and providers excel in over 40 specialties. Its specialty centers range from brain tumor centers, spine, comprehensive stroke, to epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and sleep.

Education, Research and Innovation

Jump Trading Simulation & Education Center (JUMP), located on the campus of OSF Saint Francis, is a state-of-the-art medical training center and is a collaboration between OSF HealthCare and the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. JUMP is a virtual care delivery setting that replicates all areas of patient care. Actual medical equipment is combined with state-of the-art simulation equipment to provide the highest level of medical research, training and innovation and attract the finest minds in clinical education.

Home Services Care

OSF Hospice has a rich history rooted in providing very special care for all people facing a terminal or life-threatening illness. Gifts to hospice help support those without resources to pay for hospice service and enable families to get the help they need, whether it be shelter, transportation, food or other needs. Over the years, donations have allowed OSF Hospice to provide additional services for patients, including physician visits in the home, supplies for patient use, and expensive medications to ease pain symptoms.
