Neurosciences

At OSF we're on the cutting edge of research and medicine focusing on the brain and nervous system. A gift to neurosciences allows physicians and medical professionals at our Illinois Neurological Institute (INI) to better diagnose and treat diseases and injuries of the brain and spinal cord.

What is INI?

The Illinois Neurological Institute and OSF HealthCare with the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) is an active basic and clinical research program. With the help of INI, medical teams are raising the standard of neurological care in Illinois and worldwide.

INI works with the hospitals’ Level I Trauma Center, Neurological/Trauma Intensive Care Unit, Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center, medical imaging department and Lifeline emergency helicopter and ambulance service to provide the most complete care in the region.

Supporting the Future

The patient is our primary focus

Your financial gifts move groundbreaking research forward, and provide access to proven life enhancing clinical interventions. By coordinating resources, our caregivers are better able to diagnose and treat patients with stroke, severe head injuries, epilepsy and other neurological conditions.

Gifts to INI support equipment and technology upgrades, community educational programs and patient/family support groups.

Clinical Trials & Research

Programs in Stroke, Epilepsy, Spinal Surgery, Multiple Sclerosis, Sleep, and Radiosurgery have extensive clinical research trials. These studies are supported by public and private grants and the INI Foundation Research funds. Clinical research is an important element in each specialty center in the INI, assuring patients that the most current treatments are available.
