Celebrating 1 Year Together!
This month marks one year since we joined the OSF HealthCare Ministry. February 1, 2020 we officially became OSF HealthCare Little Company of Mary Medical Center. It was a momentous day. But just six weeks later we treated our first patient with COVID-19.
It has been a year of unexpected challenges and changes, but through it all, YOU were there. Almost immediately we received tremendous support from our donor community, everything from personal protective equipment (PPE) to meals to items of comfort for our heroes on the front line. In case you missed it, one of our heroes was even featured in the Chicago Tribune.
You, and all of our donors, helped equip us during the pandemic and because of your generosity; we were able to speed up the expansion of our Emergency Department to accommodate the increased patient volumes that our community experienced. THANK YOU!
Today, we are thrilled to say that as we begin our second year with OSF HealthCare, we have administered 2,784 vaccine doses to our Mission Partners (what we call our staff), other health care workers and first responders with many more to come.
The first year was one that we could have never imagined. But because of the hearts of our community, the generosity of our donors and the strength of the OSF Ministry behind us, we know that we can meet any challenge.
Our second year is here and we look forward to not only continuing to provide the greatest care and love to all of our patients and their families, but also expanding the OSF HealthCare services to our community, many of which are possible because of YOU.
This spring we will open six OSF OnCall Urgent Care facilities in the Metro region to provide a convenient option that gives families safe, personalized, high-quality care when and where they need it. The Mary Potter Physicians Pavilion is undergoing renovations to make services offered there more convenient and accessible. Our primary care resources will also expand to meet our community’s needs better. Stay tuned for this and so much more.
We can’t wait to share and celebrate many more milestones and anniversaries together.
