OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center Foundation Council Welcomes Katie Kim

Katie KimThe OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center Foundation Council is comprised of Ministry leadership and community stakeholders who are leaders within their own professional realm and who exemplify thoughtful care and concern for those that seek care from OSF across the Ministry. Members of this Council are devoted to the Vision and Mission of The Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis to “serve with the greatest care and love.” These key advocates and supporters conduct and engage in fundraising activities to generate financial resources for the hospitals and steward donor dollars within each community.

The newest member to join the SFMC Foundation Council is Katie Kim, CEO The Kim Group. Katie has grown up in the Peoria area learning from a very young age the value of hard work and strong principles. Even as a child she was learning the trades of her family’s business from drafting floor plans, to laying tile, to even learning the business accounting practices. Katie says her great-grandmother, Marie Horan, is the one responsible for instilling in her a love for religion and integrity. These life experiences have shaped and molded Katie into an experienced, successful professional with values that align with the OSF HealthCare Mission.

Katie graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in computer science which landed her a job at Accenture Technology Labs. While at Accenture, she obtained her master’s degree in computer information systems while being planted around the world for various projects. Soon after, she had the opportunity of taking over the family business she grew up learning and after thoughtful prayer, she left the technology world and returned to Peoria.

The SFMC Foundation Council is thrilled to welcome Katie aboard. Her expertise in strategic implementation and business planning skills, along with her passion for development and construction, will enhance the overall goals of the OSF HealthCare Ministry in the Peoria area. Peter Coyle, the SFMC Foundation Council Chair, welcomes Katie by commenting, “We need community leaders like Katie to help us support the Mission of the Sisters. Katie’s tremendous energy, collaborative approach to overcoming challenges and true dedication to our community make her a great addition to the SFMC Foundation Council.”
